Welcome to the Swimming Microleague
of the North West of England.

The Micro League of the North West is still the top junior league in the country. Our thanks go to our representative club Southport Aqua in Retaining the number one spot by winning the National Junior final which was held at Enfield on Sunday the 29th of November 2009 for the second time of asking. The result was an emphatic one winning by 34pts from Stockport Metro. The whole occassion was absolutely fantastic from the organisation, the atmosphere in the pool arena was electric. When it came down to the first event you could sense that all the hard work in preparing SOUTHPORT AQUA for this final by their coaches was heading towards success. I could see in the junior swimmers eyes and there tell tale faces that they were not letting go of being ranked number one in the country for 2009. There approach and attitude was of a great fighting spirit, every last breath every last touch at the finishing pad they cheered from the poolside as their fellow team mates were giving their all in each event untill that special event. Number 49 which deep down we all get excited about. THE CANNON from the starting block to the finishing touch there was only going to be one winner and that was Southport Aqua. On behalf of the Executive commitee and all member clubs we send our Congratulations and Best Wishes to Southport Swimming Club in keeping our League at the top of the National Junior League. Well done to all the junior swimmers.
